Kevin Wins Queanbeyan Jockeys Premiership on Etoile Vitesse At the 30th July Queanbeyan meeting that was transferred to Canberra, Kevin held his two win lead over Brendan Ward with a comfortable win on Stables speed star, Etoile Vitesse. Kevin jumped the Face Value 3YO with them, and from there she had the pace to lead all the way to the line. It was her second win from ten starts. Keith is looking to possibly Albury on Friday 13th August, Class 2 1175m, or Parkes on Saturday 14th in a BM55, for her next start. Click

Sake Over continues stables winning run at Wagga The Over mare Sake Over won the Class 2 1400m race at Wagga on Tuesday the 27th July. Keith feels that this was a strong win after a long preperation. She came from well back and was the only horse that day to win from behind. |

100% Winning Percentage over the 17/18 July Weekend - Three from Three Keith had two winners from two starters at the Saturday Gundagai meeting on the 17th July. Both Sake Over and Demoriane won in tight finishes, and both were ridden by Kevin Sweeney. Then in the Queanbeyan meeting that was transferred to the Acton track on Sunday 18th July, You Can Call Me Al showed his maiden win was no fluke by winning the 1280m 3YO set weights race. Kevin had the Al Maher gelding sitting on the back of the odds on favourite, then pulled him out at the 250m for a strong win. Keith has had 30 wins this racing year, but frustratingly, 40 second placings. Finally, he is getting some luck in photo finishes to be able to convert good runs into wins. Kevin

Demoriane Wins Maiden at Wagga The 3YO Fubu filly Demoriane won the 1400m Maiden at the Monday Wagga meeting on the 5th July. On a Heavy 8 track, Kevin Sweeney had the filly off the fence in the better going to the turn, from where she raced away to win by two and a quarter lengths. She started $8.00 in the ring. |

Virginia Breeze Wins First Up at Canberra The Anabaa filly Virginia Breeze again showed her potential when she won her third race start in the Class 2 Guevera.com Handicap over 1000m on the 14th May 2010. Kevin Sweeney jumped the 3YO in front, and she was never headed, although she did drift out in the straight, indicating that she may still have a bit to learn. She started $2.00 favourite. The clip

Keith Wins 2007/8 Canberra Premiership Keith emphasised his position as one of the region's leading trainers by taking out this season's Canberra premiership. He trained 19.5 winners for the season, four ahead of his nearest rival, Barbara Joseph. Keith attributes his success to his good staff, and especially to his loyal owners . Keith
is seen here plotting with
Peter Robl to get Divine Matilda home on the last day of the season at Canberra, unfortunately without success. |
